Soprano Marylynn Smith is proud to be a native of Sacramento CA. After receiving a degree in business at CSU, her parents recognized her musical talent and she began her vocal studies privately under the late Ethel Mackey Johnson. She subsequently received a scholarship to the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music in Stockton, graduating with a Bachelor of Music. She continued her musical studies and obtained a Master of Music in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She also studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. While in Graz she performed the roles of Bess and Serena in Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" as well as Sophie from Strauss's opera "Der Rosenkavalier." Marylynn enjoys working with youth and assisting in developing their talents. She is always available to share her talents and her God given gift of singing and be a blessing to others.
